The TruLight Foundation was established in 2011 by Mr. George Shinn, former owner of the NBA New Orleans Hornets. After successfully battling prostate cancer, Mr. Shinn made the decision to sell the NBA franchise and to devote his life and resources to do good works. He established the TruLight Foundation to carry out a mission of service to the Lord Jesus Christ and to the people of the world and to promote a healthy and cancer-free lifestyle through nurturing the body, mind and spirit. This service ranges from direct aid to the needy through organizations such as the Salvation Army to medical and education projects in the Third World.
